The Loose Tights are amongst our most beloved pieces. They get an update with a comfortable three inch elastic waistband, a form-fit hip and waist and a small zippered pocket. Made from 21 micron, heavyweight stretch wool, a blend of New Zealand Merino and Lycra.
Our winter weight stretch wool is built for warmth and movement. The exclusive combination of mostly wool with a bit of nylon and Lycra® gives this fabric a soft, resilient flexibility. Used in the Women's Loose Tights, it has become a favorite of many, a fabric that you won't want to take off. Machine Washable. Fabric comprised of: 88.7% NZ Merino,7% Nylon, 4.3% Lycra
Benefits of Wool
Wool garments offer substantially more protection from UV exposure than traditional summer fabrics, like cotton.
Wool draws moisture away from the skin and evaporates moisture, regulating body temperature in all conditions.
Ibex wool products naturally include antimicrobial properties, keeping your garment odor-free.
Wool fights off weather and dirt and prevents stains, making Ibex easy to wash and easy to keep clean.
Because Ibex is made from very small micron diameter fibers, our garments are extremely soft and comfortable.
The craftspeople who are involved in every step of the process–from the sheep, to the spinners, to the sewers–are carefully hand-selected.
Because we use wool–a natural and renewable fiber– Ibex is good for you and good for the Earth.
Ibex wool garments resist heat. They don’t hold a flame and won’t melt like synthetic fabrics and fibers.
We recommend a general body measurement guide to determine your size in Ibex clothing. This sizing chart is not garment specific, but in fact a body measurement chart. Here are some helpful hints when measuring:
Bust/Chest: relax arms at sides, keeping the tape parallel to the floor, measure the fullest part of your bust/chest
Waist: keeping the measuring tape comfortably loose, measure around your natural waistline
Hips: standing with heels together, keep the tape straight and parallel to the floor, measure around the fullest part of hips
Sleeve Length: a 3-point measurement, standing with arms relaxed and slightly bent at sides, measure from the base of the neck to the shoulder and then from the shoulder to the wrist bone, add together measurements
Form-fit: garment designed to fit snug to the body throughout
Semi-fit: garment will be contoured to the body
Regular-fit: garment will not be slim, but also not oversized
Relaxed-fit: garment drapes loosely on body

I am usually a very solid "medium" when it comes to anything below the waist. However, I have a really small waist in relation to hips (28-39), plus a pretty short inseam, and am at this point in womanhood very accustomed to altering clothes to fit me more perfectly. The pattern design of these pants is superb - no side seams make the heavy-ish fabric work well - they're not at all bulky or unco
I usually wear a size 4 (small) pant but the xs in this fit me well and I'm allowing for a bit of possible stretching over time, which I read about from others. The length on my 5'4" frame is perfect. Such a great, substantial (thick enough), breathable warm wool fabric, that has just enough lycra, so it's easy to move in and comfortable! Nice wide waistband. Kinda want to wear them all the time i
These tights are slim-fitting but flattering, have a nice touch of style and are warm. I wouldn't wear them for a run or yoga (too warm), but I would and do wear them everywhere else! I am fairly tall, and these tights are a wee long on me, but not enough to complain. I might suggest offering two inseam lengths, but otherwise, please keep offering these!
I searched extensively for yoga pants for men, but to little avail. Especially when it came to wool for cool studio use. Thinking outside the box, I decided to give these a try - Glad I did! Ibex wool is so comfortable. These fit my skinny hips just fine! No bagginess at all. And the inseam is plenty long.
Yes! I would recommend these to my male yoga buddies!
First of all, if there was a white logo I would have sent them back. It seems IBEX has "grayed" out the logo..much better. They are perfect for feeling warm and comfortable on the sailboat, in our 60F house in winter, after the gym, shopping, probably good for running but don't want to go overboard yet. Love them!
I wear these pants all the time in cold weather, mostly for work purposes because you can throw anything on top and they look great. Though they'd probably be good for snowshoeing or x-country skiing too. The main improvement over the earlier loose tights version is that they removed the detailing on the front/side that used to hit at an unflattering place on the hips. They are now sleek with a
Great length. I'm 5 '8". I am an avid bike rider so I have strong legs. These hang nicely. I can wear these to work, backcountry skiing, and out on the town in nice boots. They could use a small ribbon in the waste band to hold them up for running. They are nice for airline travel.
I almost passed on my Loose Tights because of the price, but I'm so glad I decided to get them--they are now my favorite pants. I'm tall, 6'2", and these pants are JUST long enough in a size large (I normally take a size 12). They have a very flattering fit and really do regulate according to temperature. They are a super stylish alternative to sweats or jeans. Wear them with some black boots
These pants are perfect. They have become my go to pants for my saturday morning errands and more. I find the fit to be dead on. I am 5'1" and the xs is perfect even in the length. Another winner thanks ibex.
These pants live up to the how great all the Ibex clothing items have been. Nothing else like them exists that I know of. They make fleece seem like something from a bygone era. They are a nice addition to the heavy tights, which are great for winter running and biking. The difference is these can be worn everywhere. The leg is nice and straight, not too wide. The length is very generous. Another
My husband bought these for me 'cause I've envied a pair of Ibex pants that he has.. I've worn them around the house, to the gym (to rave reviews), and to work on casual Fridays. I love the feel of the wool, they fit well, and I've gotten many compliments. I can't think of a negative about them
These were a gift in size Small, I'm 5ft 5in 110lbs, and had to exchange for an X-Small. But the X-small was slightly too short at first. After a few hours the weight of the fabric allowed them to lengthen just right. These are very comfortable in all the right places on me I could sleep in them but nice enough to wear to work I forget I have these on and not my scrub pants. I would love to wea
I saw a similar pair of these when I went to Seattle in 2009. I didn't think "needed" them. I thought about those pair in Seattle ever since I left there. I decided I'd order a pair this past December. They are great. So comfy and great for Yoga and just lounging. Even though I technically don't need these, I'm so glad I fulfilled my desire because I just love them. They are just the right
This is the second pair of tights I have gotten. About 2 years ago I got a pair and have been impressed with the fabric, it has held up remarkably well, easy to wash and I love the zip pocket. They are comfortable and multifunctional. They only thing I do not love is that the fabric ocasionally " catches" and yarn pulls out. But the yarn is very fine so not really noticable. I wear them all the t
These are wonderful! I love them so much I have ordered them in another colour too. I also have the Izzy pant, which I also love. These are a bit lighter, which is great for slightly cooler weather. I will wear these every where - work, play, travel and probably almost all year (some summer nights are cool!). You could definitely wear these running, hiking and for yoga (although they might be
These pants are amazing! I have ordered them in heather grey too. You could wear these almost anywhere and almost all year too. They can be dressed up or down. I am 5'3" and 127 lbs and small was perfect, other than about 1" too long (not an uncommon problem for me). They might be a bit too warm for yoga, and the only reason I would probably not wear them running is that I prefer a tight ankl
I gave up trying to choose between wearing these everyday while working at home or saving them for casual evenings out. Now I'm just a lazy bum and wear 'em all the time. Honestly, I think I could sleep in them. They're just-right warm indoors and warm enough for walking/running errands (we're talking 15 degrees here.
A nice fit and fabric weight, and a "go with anything" shade of brown. From looking at the size chart, I should have ordered a L size, but opted to try the M size, based on how yoga pants fit me; I love the M size- not too snug; and a flattering fit.Ibex is a pleasure to deal with- great customer service [...] things we Canadian customers appreciate!
Great fitting and looking pants. A little too heavy/warm for studio work but great for outdoor excercise in cold weather. Nice trim fit and trim fitting straight legs. Very flattering for a warm winter pant. Does not make you look fat or like the Michelin man.
I wear it with your tops and hiking boots but also with cashmere and high heel boots. I already have the izzi and the jaci but I like these best. I never ordered the tights because I was afraid they would be too tight but they have the most elegant cut of all.
The only thing I worry about with your knits are pulls. I commented on that above. I keep away from dogs and cats when I am wearing th
These pants are fine for seeing patients in my professional practice, fine for meetings, going out to dinner. At first I dry cleaned them and then decided to hand wash them with Ivory; it worked well. My only complaint is that after several wearings the knees bag a bit. My weight tends to vary a bit; these pants just adapt.
I love these pants. I could feel the wind blow through them on a cold morning, but they're warm so it doesn't matter. I'm afraid they'd be too hot for warm yoga, but am very glad I've got them for the long winter.
I don't really want to take these pants off. Would love to get another pair in black. Great for cross-country skiing and hanging out at home. Never too hot or too cold (with a windstopping layer on real cold days.)
I already had a brown pair of these that have lasted many uses for the past four years. When our winter here in Tennessee continued to be cold and snowy, I bought a second pair. These are loose enough to wear silk longjohns underneath on the really cold days, but stylish enough to wear with a sweater and scarf to a chamber music concert.
I wear these pants all the time, any time of year except really hot summer. This is my second navy pair; I had to get brown and charcoal, too. I rarely wear other pants--I've even replaced my jeans with these! Love them---wear a jacket with them to go out to eat, and wear with fleece for outdoor sports in winter. These have become a staple in my wardrobe. They are as comfortable as sweatpants,
I love Ibex; I own several Ibex sweaters (the Carrie hoody is a favorite). I decided to try the Loose Tights II and have not been disappointed! They are lightweight but warm and super comfortable- a GREAT alternative to sweatpants- and much more stylish! Thank you Ibex!
Don't worry if these pants seem short: they will stretch out lengthwise as the day goes on. If you have to hem them, as I did, wear them for several hours before marking the hem. They may seem short when you put them on but will lengthen.
I am outside a lot and enjoy wearing these pants in the late fall and winter. I don't like that they keep getting longer and longer and become baggy at the knees. I have several pairs because they are so comfortable, but after a season of use, they have stretched out to the point that I will only wear them at home.
I decided to try these pants after reading the reviews: I am SO glad I purchased them (actually, I got 2 pairs). Casual enough for coffee shop and paper reading but can dress up with sweaters and nicer tops for office wear. Long enough, which is difficult for me to find in pants-inseam usually 33-34- these hang nicely to length. Not too tight, but not too loose. Just right in all the important p
I ordered my usual large size, and had to take 3" off the bottom and hem them. The fabric is substantial---heavier than the Izzy pant, but o.k. as this style is not intended to drape. The navy color is nice. I have worn these tights walking, and around town to shop.
These fit more snugly around the middle than the Energy Sport pants and the Izzi pant. The do fit almost like a pair of tights around the waist/hips/butt, but the drop to a narrow, straight leg at the bottom. Not as flared as Energy Sport, and not even close to the wide-legged Izzi. If you are on the hippy side, this tapered silhouette may not be for you. Personally, I love the fit. My Energy
I wore these pants for several days in the woods, when clothes that could keep me warm in the wet were very important, and I was satisfied with these pants' comfort and warmth. They're very comfortable and lightweight, as well.
I haven't worn these pants for very long, so I can't comment yet on their durability. It's possible that over time these pants will merit more than the 4 stars I gave it
