New Zealand Merino wool 195 g/m2 Garment Weight (oz): 8.96
Finely tuned 18.5 micron New Zealand Merino at 195g/m2. We designed this fabric from the need of a weight in-between our Woolies at 150g/m2 and our Zepher at 230g/m2. The weight of the fabric resembles that of a high quality t-shirt. It works well worn next to skin, as a baselayer or on its own.

The Indie crew does very well what any baselayer should do. It keeps your core comfortable in a variety of conditions, it layers well, is durable, & easy to launder. I've worn these shirts as casual wear as well as for hiking, camping, sailing, fly fishing, & horseback riding. The weight is great for most seasons in north Texas, & I can layer a Woolies T-shirt under it for colder conditions. Just
This product is very comfortable and did very well on a 3 day hiking excursion. I did not get too hot or cold while wearing the shirt as a base layer. It vented well and allowed proper temperature control. Love it.
Its winter down here in Oz atm, and I brought some Indie's to keep warm .. Plus, I'm planning a trip to the UK and and these will come in handy over there .. The fact that their not "on the nose" after one days wear is a bonus, as when I'm on holidays I want to have fun not be washing clothes .. The colours/fit/style/quality are fantastic .. I also like the fact that they are made by Uncle Sam in
This is my second favorite piece of clothing (behind the Ibex Scout Half Zip) -- it looks great worn casually under a t-shirt and also makes a great base layer for hiking, climbing, backpacking, cycling, etc. The wool feels soft and smooth against the skin and wicks moisture as well as a synthetic without ANY smell.
Guys, note that this is a true base layer, so the fit is quite sung, meaning that
I just received my Indie Crew and am extremely pleased so far. I'm 5' 10", 175 lbs. and the medium fits perfectly. I have a long torso and this shirt has plenty of length without looking baggy. I've worn it to work over a T-shirt and it looks great. It will be a fantastic baselayer in cooler weather as well.
This shirt is on the lighter-weight side, and it's perfect for casual wear. The contrast stripe gives it some style. I wear it and the t-neck version all the time. Never too hot, put a light sweater on over it if it's chilly. I never take it off. Nice fit for athletic build -- not too snug, flattering.
This is a great shirt and it would be baggy (like the description says) if you ordered your regular size. I am 5'8" and 150 lbs and I ordered small because it says it is baggy and small fits great! I recommend it as a nice looking shirt which is really comfy and warm for the weight
This is a great light weight shirt that works for casual wear or days in the mountains. I like a light long sleeve for sun protection and this one breaths well and stays stink free, all the while looking good.
I work outside and play outside and depend on quality products. Ibex meets my needs, particularly with the Indie Crew. It is roomy enough to wear over a wool base layer, but not baggy when worn alone. It is well constructed and I like the earth tone color. The only gripe I have with their clothing is that those with full zippers don't unzip from the bottom to improve ventilation. A quibble that h
A new product for me, I have worn it as an underlayer and as a work shirt for casual days on the job. I know it will be a great commuter jersey, and will perform well on hikes and canoe trips. Perfect weight for our cooler Alaska summers, and it looks good too. Like all Ibex garments, this one is great!!
I bought this for my husband, who is 6'6". Few shirts fit him properly but the XL that I bought is perfect. The sleeves and shirt hem hit at the right spot. He loves it, pulls it out to wear it as soon it comes out of the dryer.
I have always struggled w/ wool so have been a bit hesitant to try a merino wool product. Now I am kicking myself for waiting so long, NO itching, comfortable, warm, wicking and made in the USA. This is a great product!
Ibex makes great stuff. This shirt the Ibex indie crew is one of their best. I really appreciate a comfortable merino wool item. This Indie Crew is super comfortable and looks great. It went right to the top of my "go to" shirt stack . It is great for layering or just wearing around the house. It doesn't hold odor at all so its good for many days. I've washed it and it dries quick when you lay it
Awesome shirt. I bought it to go along with a Scout FZ for a recent trip to the cool highlands of Mexico to see the overwintering monarch butterflies. Works great as a base layer or as outerwear. The shirt is very comfortable and is one of my favorite shirts to wear now. It is not form fitting and hangs nicely on the body. Would be nice to have a few more color selections.
When I brought home an Ibex shirt for myself, I could tell by the look on my husband's face that he would need one soon, also. I bought this for his birthday...he wears it, talks about it, feels the material...it's clearly love! We both love how warm our Ibex shirts are for such lightweight garments.
I love Ibex, especially their shirts, I wear them nearly everyday in the winter as a base layer and when I cycle I wear them always. My only grip is even this one which is somewhat relaxed I had to go to a large (if I wanted room)... I am a medium but with ibex a large and this means the sleeves are always too long for me. Also, I will not buy any items made in China and wish Ibex would discontinu
Perfect fit, beautifully cut. In my opinion this is softer than the 17.5 LS. Would love it if Ibex made a design where the stripes weren't always on the outside of the sleeve... Like the old Zephyr designs.
A friend of mine from Vermont recommended Ibex when I expressed dissatisfaction with the similar items I was purchasing from another company now outsourcing their production overseas and I am now a complete convert! I have enough variety in my collection now that I can literally wear an Ibex top 300+ days a year!
The indie crew is gradually replacing the long sleeve cotton shirt as my go-to top. Love the fit (I am 5'8", 145 with 38 inch chest and wear the small), moisture wicking and the lack of odor build up. I wear alone or with layers in year round bike commute in Oklahoma. The indie is stylish enough (the fit/colors/contrast stripe) that i can wear (a less sweaty) one in my office/laboratory work se
I bought one because I liked the color and I'm always restless for a new rag. Lo! and behold it was a perfect fit, something that doesn't happen that often in life. So I bought two more of the great colors. Extra great thing: it even feels a little better after a cold water gentle cycle wash and line dry. Too much for this old man.
Last year and this year I received an Indie T as part of sponsorship and this year I bought the crew LS. I can't say enough good about it. I use the Indie as a single layer around the house and around town. On cool days I use it as an under layer. It amazes me how comfortable it is as a single layer from about 52-70 degrees. Awesome!
The Indie Crew can be layered or worn alone. It is amazingly warm based on the weight of the fabric. I can layer it when I go outside to walk the dogs in the parks or it keeps me warm when I wear it downstairs as we try to conserve energy and keep the heater at 68 degrees.
This is an excellent shirt that can be worn as a base-layer or on its own. It is very comfortable and feels good against the skin. I recommend this as a good starter item if you are thinking of trying out merino wool for winter exercise or snow-sports because its enormous versatility makes it appropriate for a wide range of activities. It looks good as casual wear as well as for running or cycling
Very versatile. I use it for everything. But it shrank a little (even washing in cold water) so I exchanged it for a size larger. If you are using it for layering then size runs true. Perfect for activities in 40-60F degree weather if used as the outer garment.
I love this crew. I wear it under a collared crew while golfing in the fall and winter and it is comfortable and extremely warm. It moves the heat away well when more active. It is also a nice top to lounge around the house when there is a light chill in the air. The blue and black combo is very stylish.
I wear this stuff all the time. Very comfortable, warm and soft. Great base layer for my colder golf days ( not at all bulky ) Seemed like a lot of money until I started wearing this stuff, well worth it. Also this suff never smells !!! Love it.
This shirt is excellent for everyday wear, since I work outside, it's the perfect weight for spring as a single layer, and for an under layer in winter. Great styling and colors. Beautiful lightweight fabric. Awesome staple shirt.
I use the shirt for layering and keeping me warm as I walk across campus. It is stylish too, so I can wear it to class or around town. It is soft, warm and stylish. However, I find it a little too tight under my arms, but it's nothing intolerable. All in all, this shirt is an awesome addition to my winter arsenal of warm stylish clothing.
