86% ZQ™ New Zealand Merino Bouclé, 14% Polyester

Our machine washable bouclé is made from New Zealand merino wool/polyester blend. It is double-knit with a smooth knit on the inside and looped knit on the outside. The looping produces an insulative, warmth-trapping environment when worn with a top layer. The smooth side glides over lighter layers. Ibex bouclé is a great midlayer or outerlayer, depending on conditions. Machine washable.

Extreme versatility; can go from the office to the mountains and back to camp without a hitch. I own several and wear them constantly from Fall to Spring. The Scout vest is also a winner ! Though not inexpensive, Ibex products are a great value. Well made, high quality materials that do not itch or stink (like synthetics). Give them a try...you will not be disappointed. Thanks for making gre
[...] I bought it for myself instead and LOVE it! It is closer to a woman's L so it is a bit big for me (I normally wear an Ibex M) but pleasantly roomy and comfortable. I can layer underneath with plenty of space while retaining the ability to move OR wear it just with a tank - either way it looks great. I use it every weekend out on the boat in Whittier, AK, while fishing and shrimping and it ha
I own blue, orange, and now the grey one - I have been wearing the Scout for 5 or more years, and I love 'em - warm and versatile, they are my go to layer for cool to cold weather - both at play and at work. I have also given them as gifts to both of my sons and they love them too!
I love the Scout half-zip so much, I bought a second one! It's machine-washable (turn it inside-out before washing for best results) and can be worn for weeks between washings without accumulating dirt or odor. It's my favorite piece of clothing -- with the Ibex Indie Crew being a close second!
I love this Scout top so much that I've accumulated 4 over the past several years. Scout regulates tempeture, resists/repels rain, stains, stink and animal fur and remains presentable after years of use. Ibex has turned me into an avid Scout and Pez hoarder. Ssshhhhh - let's keep Ibex our fashion/functionality secret
I wear this at work, out to dinner, relaxing on the weekend and skiing. Basically, I can wear this sweater anywhere! Nice and soft on the inside, great temperature regulation and tougher than I though it would be. One of my favorite pieces of clothing.
I've had this sweater for a couple of years now and must admit that it is one of the most versatile pieces that I own. It looks good enough to go and teach P.E. in and it works well enough to take snowshoeing. Great as a stand alone once you warm up or as a layering piece.
This was my first piece from Ibex and it was the beginning of the addiction. Stop your search, you have found the perfect mid layer. The Scout _ zip is a tough as nails, has excellent breathabilty and is beautiful (some even say man pretty). This is a piece that you can take out at 0 dark 30 for some pre-work dawn patrol ski laps and then work all day in.
I have two of these a darker green and madder. I had the green one along on a trip to Alaska last summer which involved camping and kayaking and found it really comfortable and warm. At the same time I can wear these to work in an office. A great sweater.
I was looking something that was good for work but casual enough for everyday use. This pullover is perfect - comfortable, warm without being too hot, and good looking. I use the chest pocket to hold my phone while I'm bike-commuting and the neck comes up high enough so that I don't need a scarf on cold mornings. So far, the wool weave has held up well and I love buying clothes made in the US.
I use this piece for all occasions: work, hiking. skiing, snowboarding and especially when traveling. A very practical piece that wears well, looks great and is a perfect layer to help regulate body temperature. I have several color ways of the Scout and they are my go to option for warmth without over-heating.
OK here is my secret, and don't you frigging share it with anyone. I put on a pair of suspenders then I pop one of these sweaters on top and none the wiser. Fit and Trim I tell ya, and the girls seem to appreciate me a bit more too.
I have 2 of these sweaters. The first one I wear often and it has shown no wear and tear for 2 years. It is washed frequently. My other brand sweaters "pile" and wear thin at the elbows and get "out of shape" quickly. It does not show wrinkles. It looks like the new one, only a different color. I live in Colorado at 7000 feet elevation and use sweaters often during the year for cool evenings
Comfortable and nice looking piece. I work at a school and often wear kit with khakis and gives a professional look. Breathes well so I don't get too warm inside, but works well outside as well. I'm 5'6" about 165 and medium fits perfect. Will probably buy another soon.
I got this for my husband's birthday, his first ibex (but not mine). He found this sweater to be perfect for a recent bike trip in southern Calif., where the temps got down into the 40's; it kept him warm, but breathes well, and it is lightweight to carry.(And after a week, is not smelly.) He is about 6'1",maybe 200 lbs, broad-shouldered,somewhat long torso and long arms, and the large is a good
This has to be one of my very favorite layers for cool weather that I own. Bought the nice green color and liked it so much that I picked up one in black as well. It was great out of the box but a washing seems to have brought out the very best in it - soft, warm, and cozy. Not too heavy and not too light. The merino wool on this has a nice tight feel to it so you dont feel like its going to s
Bought the day before leaving the USA for 15 days in Ireland and Sweden. Rainy, cool, extremely windy and changeable weather in Ireland was no challenge to the Scout. Most days I wore a silkweight T and the Scout over, with an optional rain shell. I never got clammy under the shell, and the Scout was perfect warmth when the wind chill ramped up. Even after a couple of weeks of hiking and daily
The Scout Half-zip is a nearly perfect base layer or cool evening outer layer. I say "nearly perfect" because the inner material, while much softer than most wool sweaters, does feel just a tiny bit itchy to me. It is only really an issue when wearing a short-sleeved T-shirt underneath and still not a big deal. The itchiness seems to fade with washing. I am 5'8", 198lbs. with a 38" waist and the l
Very nice. Wearing it now, w/ my shak in the drawer.... Size Lg... Am 6ft, 200lbs Compared to my Shak zip hoody, it fits a bit smaller in length, an extra 2" in length woulda been exceptional, but I always want more fabric... Sleeve length is just fine. The double fabric is a tight pilled face on the outside sewn onto a super soft inner fabric. A faux fleece, but I think the fleece is a faux Boun
I use this sweater for everything, it is the perfect weight for me since it isn't a thick, heavy sweater. I get too hot in those. It will be great on it's own for spring skiing, and it would be perfect for skinning up into the backcountry in search of fresh powder when it's colder out.
Perfect for the Alaskan environment. I wear it as a midlayer and as the day heats up (I'm talkin Spring time here) I shed the coat and wear it as my outer layer. It is made very well and the wife wishes I wouldn't wear for days on end, she says I am going to wear it out.
At 6' 175lbs., I'm right in the middle between a (M) and a (L). I liked the Fatigue color, but only a (M) was available, so I pulled the trigger and took a chance. The fit is perfect with just a t-shirt underneath. Slightly snug...to the point that I will not be washing this in anything but cold water and air drying! The Boucle fabric is fantastic. It feels more like cotton (without the cold, clam
This is my second 1/2 zip scout. I liked the first one so much I asked for another for Christmas. I wear it to work (in a school) and out around town and I never overheat and it looks good. I also wear it cross country skiing in temps as low as 10 degrees with base layers and stayed perfectly warm.
This is my second Scout. I wear my first everyday at work and have yet to wear it out. I had to have a second to wear at home. This is one of the most comfortable sweaters I have ever had. Perfect year round, great for chilly summer mountain mornings or on the slopes any winter day. This is my go to layer for walking the dog or headed out on the town. An absolute favorite.
Like the heading says this is by far my favorite garment and I'm really hard on clothing and apparel. I'm that guy you give the indestructible hiking shoes to and I'll come back in a month with the soles worn out. And the funny part is that I'm not even doing anything extraordinary with them. Watches, Cell phones, back packs you name it I'll go through them with abandon.
I'm an architect, which can be a curse when it comes to satisfaction with manufactured products. I can almost always imagine a way something could be made, or function, or look, better. That is not the case with the Scout Half-Zip. It is perfect. I wear one pretty much daily from October through May in Seattle: On my daily bicycle commute (either under a shell in the rain or very cold, or by itsel
This is my second Scout 1/2 zip and I love it! I am on the road everyday for my job and this sweater allows me to stay warm on the jobsite, in my truck and at the office - while still looking professional and neat. Many people ask about the sweaters and of course I rave about them and they are very durable.
The aspects of the Scout that some of the guys don't like translate into perfection for us tall women! Loose fit? No, that just means room for our assets and hips! The sleeve length is beautiful (one of the best things about Ibex is that they make sleeves long enough). I can cuff the sleeves for bumming around, and on the bike or running the uncuffed length is great. Torso length hits just be
The Scout 1/2 Zip is my new favorite item from Ibex! I have always loved the Shak Shirt, but the new Scout 1/2 Zip is my new favorite. I purchased one, had it a day and went back to order another color. It is probably the piece that I like the most and the biggest reason is the Napoleon type zippered chest pocket. The angle at which it is sewn is great as I forgot to zip it shut the other day
I love wearing the Scout half-zip. It feels and looks better than a typical fleece pull-over it was intended to replace. The only problem was with the sizing. Based on a my chest measurement I ordered the small, but this was close fitting and the sleeves were short. The medium was a perfect loose fit without being too big or baggy.
