We built the Scout as an all-purpose Boucle Merino fabric layer. We added a full zip so the only thing messing up your hair will be a windy bike ride or an overly-affectionate relative. 21 microns of New Zealand Merino comfort.

21 micron Zque™ New Zealand Merino Boucle (86% NZM / 14% Polyester); 320 g/m2 Relaxed fit Midlayer warmth Full front zip Contrast details Double layer wide cuff Machine washable Made in the USA Garment Weight (oz): 1lb 3.3 oz
Our machine washable bouclé is made from New Zealand merino wool/polyester blend. It is double-knit with a smooth knit on the inside and looped knit on the outside. The looping produces an insulative, warmth-trapping environment when worn with a top layer. The smooth side glides over lighter layers. Ibex bouclé is a great midlayer or outerlayer, depending on conditions. Machine washable.

A bit pricey but well worth it to buy something made in the USA and made darn well. It is a shame that Ibex sells anything made in China along side the USA made stuff, it cheapens the brand in my view. As long as they continue to offer quality G-8 made clothing I will continue to buy.
I love it and everyone who sees it loves it. The cut is flattering, even for someone with a little extra weight around the middle. (This can not be said about all Ibex sweaters, so I feel it is worth a mention here.)
Bought this as a gift for my husband, who I have "converted" to Ibex over the last year. He now owns 11 Ibex shirts. This is a fantastic addition to his wardrobe. The Oat Heather color has added some much-need variety to his black-black-black palette, and the no fuss, super-warm zip style suits his conservative, casual style perfectly. He is 5'11" and 180lbs, and the medium fits just right. Multip
Another great product from Ibex. I own one boucl zip-up already and am glad to have another. I wear it to work, and outdoors, and in the house on chilly days when I don't want to turn up the thermostat. I lecture in it, too.
I bought this for my boyfriend as a Christmas gift. The large fit his 5'9.5" frame well. The shoulders actually had enough room and the body was long enough. Even better, was that the arms were long enough too. It has a nice narrowing through the body which makes it look dressier.
He is a very active guy and this has stood up well. He's been camping, shopping and to dinner in it. It washes really
my second one...first more than 2 yrs ago in a new england sports shop, had not heard of ibex brand. easy to wear, full zipper to adjust internal temps. sharp trim looks, perfect over jeans, and under heavier dress coats, easy to travel and such comfortable wool, non-itch..just bought another on sale..know it will serve me well..have other products but I think this is one of their best pieces..pl
I was looking for a nice light-mid weight wool jacket/sweater for a trip to the central highlands of Mexico to observe the overwintering monarch butterflies. I needed something that would be comfortable for the 40-60 degree range. The Scout FZ ended up working perfectly. I wore it everyone day (7 days) during a variety adventures (trail and town). We were at high elevation so the temperature wo
This product fits perfectly over my lighter weight shack jersey. When using it out as the mid layer, with a base layer against my skin and the jersey on top of that, this piece does an absolutely fabulous job keeping me warm. And it helps cut down on the wind much better than I thought it would. The pockets are in the right places and the zippers were designed by someone who likes people and wa
Because of friandly recomendations I bought the scout second hand off a popular auction site for much cheaper than retail. This thing is so soft and seems extremly durable and the stiching and design features are spot on. If this thing doesn't last me forever I surely would and will buy another. I have since bought the optimus and smuggler and both are excellent sweaters but the scout is my favori
This is an excellent light jacket. The wool is thick enough without being bulky and it's super soft. The look is excellent - nice enough to wear out on the town. It is very comfortable in a range of weather from 65 or so down to the 40's with a light shirt and certainly a fine layer for colder weather. It keeps me warmer than I thought it would, but it's not too hot. I've only had this jacket abou
I bought this about a year ago and have been wearing it almost every day in fall/winter/early spring...which here in KY is of course not as many days as farther north. It still looks new, and I have not noticed any pilling. It is my favorite middle weight sweater/jacket as I like the easy on/off of the full zip and it is not bulky like my fleece jacket. Plus, I think it looks much nicer and les
I have Ibex Jackets in all shapes and sizes, but had been looking for a nice, light jacket with pockets. This one fits the bill perfectly. It also has two sizeable internal pockets and one small, zipped internal pocket perfect for a wallet/phone/ipod. I'm very happy with it. Interestingly, mine didn't come with the chin-flap shown in the pictures, but for me that was a good thing.
Great product but had to return an XL because it fit like a large. Look forward to backordered XXL. I have a few Ibex products and they are all durable, comfortable, and warm. Kudos for making products in the U.S.
I love this sweater! I grab it to walk the dogs in the city (DC), but also when out for a long hike in the hills in 40-50 degree weather. The full zip means I can control the warmth, and the high collar is ideal for the brisk winds we get in VA mountain country. When the temp dips below 30, it's an ideal under layer. Combined with my woolies long sleeve T - which I never don't wear! :-) - it
The Scout FZ exceeded my expectations - great fit, great color - both sporty and casual dressy - warm and practical - durable...have worn it daily with no signs of wear and tear - love it! IBEX - make more like this!
Great fit, great styling. Ibex at it's best. A very versatile sweater.Goes from athletic to stylish with ease. I really like the stand up collar and the deep pockets. Just the sweater I was looking for!
I love this jacket just a little tight in the chest area for a 44L so if you are a tight large go with the XLg for a better fit unless you plan on making this a first layer item then a tight fit is good! Overall this jacket is warm especially if its under another jacket or layer.
I like this one a lot and know it will continue to see lots of use. It's not too anything, so it's latitude is pretty optimal in how I use it... pretty much year round. I got the oatmeal heather one... a most handsome muted color, the extra flair of the striping being just the right touch. I'm 155 and nearly 6 ft. The size L is just ever so slightly too big for me all over, but hardly so. I don't
I typically wear a light synthetic shell for much of my outdoor or indoor (I try to keep the heat turned down) first additional layer needs. I am totally embracing the wool after trying the Scout. It has added to my comfort level with the nice feel of the wool, and is maintaining a comfortable temperature as well. Made in the USA was also a big selling point for me.
Ordered the large, because I bought the Pez in large and it was pretty much right on. I got both of them in the same order delivery, and the Scout was definitely noticeably larger. Had two other friends try them both on, same verdict. Just as a heads up for ordering. I love it, and am going to gift it to a larger friend ... but I would definitely go medium in the future. It's a light outer layer,
This has become my favorite sweater. I received it as a gift in January and have worn it almost every day since. The desert air in southern Afghanistan rapidly cools at sunset and this is the perfect weight wool to counter the chill. The material is slim (non-bulky)and fits under a jacket easily. It is also durable with the exception of pilling at the elbows prior to the initial washing. The pilli
This is truly a quality garment. I can't say as I can find any fault but one. Before I mention what I find to be that fault, let me describe myself. I am 6 feet 2 inches and weigh 190 lbs with a waist of 35 inches. About the size of a defensive back in the NFL. Normally I order garments in XL as I prefer the "loose" fit. The Scout is listed as having a "relaxed" fit. Though the sleeves are
Just received my sweater. Ordering was easy & shipment was fast. Ibex products are high quaility. Very impressed. Traveling to Ireland in early spring and wanted a sweater to wear as a layer or by it's self. this will do the job nicely. Noticed a lot of stray threads that had to be trimmed though. Top shelf!
I love this jacket/sweater. It's a great layer on cool days, fits well and I've gotten some nice compliments on appearance. Two reasons I gave it a 4/5. One, the jacket is warm but wind goes right through it. I do a lot of bike riding on cool days and something with a touch more wind protection would be perfect. Two, I had a previous Ibex wool jacket that had a pocket on the sleeve for my iPho
I've worn this sweater almost every day since the fedex man dropped it at my door. I like it better than fleece. It's not too heavey and it's just right with a zepher underneath in 40 to 60 degree weather. It also fits nicely under my rain shell without bunching up. There were a few loose threads poking out so I trimed them off. The colour is very close too the online picture(shetland heather)
This overall is a very well made and thought out garment for the most part. Its very stylish fits well and gives you a lot of the benefits that wool provides. Doesn't smell, Breathes very well, doesn't wrinkel, while being relatively soft to the touch and flame retardent. It's also fairly durable. However the merino isn't all that warm. This tends to be a typical problem for me with Merino woo
