The Ibex Promise
We’re committed to uncompromising craftsmanship and to your satisfaction. If you are unsatisfied for any reason, return your purchase within 60 days with proof of purchase to receive an exchange, repair, or refund. It's our promise.

Aerobic activity is about efficiency. Burn too much energy, too soon and the day gets a lot longer. The Breakaway 2 jacket keeps a body at its most efficient, not too warm but protected from the cold. The secret is Climawool, a four-way stretch wool blend. (Think magic sheep.) Details like articulated elbows, reflective logo racing stripe and a cavernous back pocket make this one of our most technical pieces, though it remains understated so you can snag a post-workout coffee without feeling like a NASCAR driver. (Unless you are a NASCAR driver.)

How Do I Determine My Size?

We recommend a general body measurement guide to determine your size in Ibex clothing. This sizing chart is not garment specific, but in fact a body measurement chart. Here are some helpful hints when measuring:

Bust/Chest: relax arms at sides, keeping the tape parallel to the floor, measure the fullest part of your bust/chest
Waist: keeping the measuring tape comfortably loose, measure around your natural waistline
Hips: standing with heels together, keep the tape straight and parallel to the floor, measure around the fullest part of hips
Sleeve Length: a 3-point measurement, standing with arms relaxed and slightly bent at sides, measure from the base of the neck to the shoulder and then from the shoulder to the wrist bone, add together measurements
Form-fit: garment designed to fit snug to the body throughout
Semi-fit: garment will be contoured to the body
Regular-fit: garment will not be slim, but also not oversized
Relaxed-fit: garment drapes loosely on body

You guys nailed it
This jacket, while expensive, even on sale, is worth it. Again, Ibex has nailed it with a simple, functional and well thought out design. The simplicity of this jacket, with all the features you want/need - one large back pocket, small chest pocket w/ audio port, and reflective accents are really it's best features. Less really is more. And the fabric - the Climawool...what can I say, it works

Brilliant. Simply Brilliant
Love, love this jacket. Have used it for warm weather downhill skiing, night time skin'n ski adventures, cold weather running.

Am considering buying a second just to have on hand when my first one eventually wears out from all the use. Seriously. Hope this product becomes a staple for the Ibex product line.

A must have jacket
Plan to wear this jacekt for morning runs in cool weather. The jacket fits nicely except the sleeves is just a bit too long but i guess its OK if you are riding a bike where your arms are extended. Very nice sharpe looking jacet. The chest pocket is great and the back pouch is handy. Very well made.

Surprisingly amazing!!
This jacket excels at cool weather cycling and running. Nearly windproof on the front with great breathability from the back. Full zip increases venting options. Only somewhat bad thing to say is "Don't stand still with your back to the wind, after a run". The rear of the jacket is very receptive to cool wind. Just keep moving forward!. Lead the way!!!!!

My new go-to jacket
This jacket performs well in a broad band of temps, light freezing rain and light snow. The back side is very breathable as the other reviewers note but its not a deal-breaker because this jacket is made for MOVING.

It has replaced my old stinky patagonia lined shell of 14 yrs as my favorite for sub-zero to mid-30's winter wear. I've been skate skiing in it recently at about 7-15 degrees with 2 l

Super versatity
Just did a 3 day road ride near Banff and experienced temps from freezing to 65. The breakaway jkt was warm when needed and breathed well when temps rose. Also like that wool doesn't stink like synthetics. The only negative was chest pocket bonding started to delaminate; stitching would be more durable.

Glad I finally got this jacket...
Just got this product and have cross country skied two times with it in - 8 C. Great temperature control, very very comfortable, Schoeller fabric works great. The merino backing and inner arms allow just enough cooling in aerobic activities. Have not jogged with it yet though. Minor gripes : would have liked a reflective stripe on the right arm for jogging towards oncoming traffic and the arms

Cold weather Breakaway
Bought on recommendation from another rider and used in the cold weather and cooler windy weather for biking. It does an excellent job of reducing the wind without an unbreathable nylon shell and breathes a bit when needed. I would prefer just a bit more reflective material in the back, perhaps a bit larger symbol or a simple stripe at some point without being too blatant.

This jacket is almost perfect. My only complaint is that the sleves are too tight for my 21 inch guns (heh, heh) or much layering beneath.
Other than that they've nailed it in typical Ibex style.
