I use the Zepher skull cap underneath my helmet when skiing. The fit, comfort and warmth are terrific. It breathes nicely and is very light. Aside from keeping my lid warm, I hardly know the cap is there. It's easily the best skull cap I've worn. No need for fleece or polypro anymore. Wool's the best!
This is a really nice product, it fits my big melon really well and gives your ears full coverage so it is super warm. It is a perfect thickness as well. Then I let my girlfriend try it on and it fit her small head really nicely as well so now she steals it and uses it all the time so I need another. I got 2 at sale price but would definitely pay full retail.
These hats are perfect for winter running. Keep your head warm without making you overheat. They also fit under a bike helmet, so great for winter biking too. My husband and I can both wear the hats comfortably. We have several in different colors.
Light and yet very warm. I wear it solo or under a helmet when cycling. Does a much better job of keeping my head warm and dry than any synthetic cap. Stylish to boot. I have a big head with short hair an it fits just fine.
Being a shaved head guy, I need some "hair" when it cold out. This hat is perfect! Not too hot, not too cold, it's keeps my head temp regulated. I cross country ski, hike, walk the dogs, wherever I am or what I do this hat is with me.
This hat works great.. i can use it under larger hats if i want.. biggest thing it breathes really well.. I started off on a 100 mile bike ride in very cool weather and it warmed up a lot.. i hardly knew it was there the whole time.
This hat is great, it fully covers your ears and head which is huge. It is sort of thin but very warm, so you can wear it in the warmer months as well. It also looks great on me, my girlfriend started stealing it so I bought some more of them because I will inevitably lose one, and destroy one. It is really stretchy and should fit any head - I have a big melon and it fits me great, and when my gf
If it isn't brutal enough for the balaclava, this is your hook-up. Has some taper around back to protect ears. Use mine under bicycle helmet. Would also work for chilly work environs - warehouse, lumberyard etc.
I use this mainly for biking. I commute year round. This hat offers very good coverage for my ears. I wear glasses and they caused a gap with my other hat that caused my ears to get cold. Not so with the Zepher. It comes down far enough that I dont have to worry about my glasses channeling cold air onto my ears. I also like that it completley covers my ears without a gap right below them. Fits gre
I bought a couple of these and am glad I did. They are perfect for cool weather on their own or in cold cold as a layer. I am a size 7 1/4 unless my hair is really long and these cover my ears in either event.
One's head is the locus of sight, smell, hearing. The place where thoughts and dreams are born. Doesn't it deserve to be cradled in something special? While wearing a Zephyr one is subtly aware of being comfortably warm without feeling the constant distraction of something sitting on one's head. During a run, when the temperature falls below 50 degrees the Zephyr always feels right. It is not at a
This is a perfect cap under my bike helmet on cool/cold rides, and will be great for cross-country skiing. Just the right amount of warmth without being too warm. It's great to wear around town on cold days too.
just like me, this cap is classic yet modern, practical and stylish - HA! - no, it really is, but maybe I'm not. Seriously buy a ton of them because it will be the only hat you reach for and you're going to want multiple colors.
This skull hat fits well under my skiing, biking or snowmachining helmets. I'm a hippie with long thick hair and this is a good liner to put under my helmets, so they ride better on my mop. I have to use less patchulli on my helmet to keep the stink down now that I have the zepher skully that I can wash between hikes or Rides.
I have three of these beanies - a black one for work, a red one for everyday, and a green one for running. The green one is a bit larger than the other two for some reason. So far they have held up well. I live in these all winter long and they have been perfect for everything.
This lightweight hat fits snugly and is great for running and cross country skiing, and probably also biking, though I haven't used it for that yet. I like the fact that it is cut low enough so that it completely covers my ears and keeps them warm, unlike other hats I've worn. It's very effective and highly recommended.
This is a wonderful cap. I prefer it to the Meru because the Zephyr is 100% wool. It's very light and soft and, despite not have spandex, seems to grip my head sufficiently (I have a medium-sized, nearly hairless head). It also is designed to cover the ears and it folds up nice and thin for slipping into a pocket when indoors. The only improvement I'd suggest is to borrow the color palette from th
I got this hat after being vaguely disappointed in a similar Patagonia beanie. The Zephyr clings to my head better, the wool is warmer yet still light, and the cut gives great coverage in a low-profile beanie design. Fits well under a hood or a climbing helmet. Haven't' tried yet, but I predict a good fit under a cycling helmet as well. No itch, which was an important consideration for me. The fab
I wear this hat all. the. time. I wear it for my bike commute and ski adventures. I wear it around town. I wear it in my house (because we keep the thermostat low). For biking and other aerobic activities I think it's a little too warm for temps above 25 or so, but it's great for exercise on cold days. And if you're not working hard it's comfortable up to the 50s. Good coverage, breathes well. I h
The Zepher Skull Cap provides warmth and comfortable fit. Perfect wear for any outdoor activity when the mercury begins it's wintery descent. All fear of wool as functioning garment on my body has been allayed. Wool: not your grandma's knit anymore.
My husband and I LOVE these hats. Great for walks in moderate cold (above 25). Breathes nice, dries out quickly, and packs up way small (stuffs in a pocket easily). Fit is just right on tightness--stays on but doesn't grip your head too hard and really mush down your hair. Washes fine (line dry) and looks good as new. One of Ibex's best!
This hat is great for winter activities. I've worn it hiking, snowshoeing, snowbiking, and just out and about. It is not so warm that you feel like you need to take it off if you are running errands, transitioning between inside, outside, and the car. Breaths really well when you are working up a sweat, and doesn't feel chilly when you cool down. Typical merino traits.
I have a XL head, plus wear my hair long, and often in a ponytail or top knot, so sliding up and off is an issue! (and am wool sensitive to boot!) I would love to see a longer version, or optional ear flaps, or tie down cords
But, perfect under a cycling, kayaking, or climbing helmet, Wicks sweat & water most excellently, and nearly itch less on the forehead, mu
I like the Zepher Skull Cap. It stretches to fit and covers the ears very well. It is very silky soft so it is comfortable against your skin. My only con was the material is too light weight. In cold temps it works best as a liner under your other hat. It kind of like long underwear for your head.
It is fine for running or cycling under a helmet. For long walks or hikes if it is windy at al
I prefer this hat to the Meru, which I also own, because the Zepher is all wool and also covers my ears well. It's very comfortable with zero itch. In fact, it's so soft & barely-there, yet very warm, that I often sleep in it in a cold cabin. When the temp really drops, I love the Zepher under another hat. It also works well with the Carrie Hoody. The Zepher is a very valuable part of my winter we
I recently discovered Ibex and have become a big fan even though I don't have many items yet. I decided to buy this hat online after reading all the great reviews. I also have Ibex glove liners that I love. When I first tried the hat on, I thought I might have to return it or give it to a friend because it was very large on a me (a small framed female). But I decided instead to try to shrink it in
I usually never wear winter hats because they always keep my head too warm. This hat does an amazing job of regulating temperature. I usually forget I have it on. It is not the most stylish hat, but the performance more than makes up for that.
