All About The Wool
Wool Type +
Smooth and comfortable, Overdyed Heather fabric is an evolution of our 18.5 micron jersey fabric made softer by the overdying technique. With a weathered look signature of the process, OD fabrics are used through Ibex casual Live line.
Benefits of Wool
Wool garments offer substantially more protection from UV exposure than traditional summer fabrics, like cotton.
Wool draws moisture away from the skin and evaporates moisture, regulating body temperature in all conditions.
Ibex wool products naturally include antimicrobial properties, keeping your garment odor-free.
Wool fights off weather and dirt and prevents stains, making Ibex easy to wash and easy to keep clean.
Because Ibex is made from very small micron diameter fibers, our garments are extremely soft and comfortable.
The craftspeople who are involved in every step of the process–from the sheep, to the spinners, to the sewers–are carefully hand-selected.
Because we use wool–a natural and renewable fiber– Ibex is good for you and good for the Earth.
Ibex wool garments resist heat. They don’t hold a flame and won’t melt like synthetic fabrics and fibers.
We recommend a general body measurement guide to determine your size in Ibex clothing. This sizing chart is not garment specific, but in fact a body measurement chart. Here are some helpful hints when measuring:
Bust/Chest: relax arms at sides, keeping the tape parallel to the floor, measure the fullest part of your bust/chest
Waist: keeping the measuring tape comfortably loose, measure around your natural waistline
Hips: standing with heels together, keep the tape straight and parallel to the floor, measure around the fullest part of hips
Sleeve Length: a 3-point measurement, standing with arms relaxed and slightly bent at sides, measure from the base of the neck to the shoulder and then from the shoulder to the wrist bone, add together measurements
Form-fit: garment designed to fit snug to the body throughout
Semi-fit: garment will be contoured to the body
Regular-fit: garment will not be slim, but also not oversized
Relaxed-fit: garment drapes loosely on body

The sleeves on my Medium are a little loose and not form fitting, and fabric weave is pretty flexible. But should note that these are not full sleeves. And not short sleeves. A rather unusual design that is about one third the way from elbow to wrist. Ends maybe 4 inches, = 10 cm, below elbow break. Until you try it hard to say if the sleeves might ride up above the pad as you bend your arm.
You can wear with elbow guards just fine. This really is a great piece of clothing, I wore it on a 70 degree day and it was awesome; however, it does tear easily. I only wore my piece just one day and put two holes in it on little things.
I have a medium of this garment and am 5'10" and 173 pounds with an average somewhat muscular build. I would say that there is probably room for a minimal set of elbow guards. I would expect it to be a slightly snug fit.
This is exactly the shirt I've been looking for for years. Great sleeve length plenty long. Loose, but not too loose on my medium build. The zipper is a nice touch compared to the foxes these replace, they work great to regulate heat. The pocket does seem a bit useless though; maybe it's for a GU, credit card or lift pass. Anything else in it seems too much. I bought two and am going to by the other colors that I can afford.
I own many pieces of Ibex, but I was waiting for them to develop a cycling specific jersey that wasn't "roadie" oriented, but more for the mountain biking set.
I bought this as soon as I could, and absolutely love it. The cut is long, the fabric is light (definitely summer weight), and it's stylish to boot. The only knock is that the pocket is near useless, which is OK because I wear a hydration pack that I can store my tools and energy bars in.
Will be buying another one on earth day, when 10% of proceeds get donated to charity!
Just what I was looking for. My Medium fit as expected on my 145 lb. frame. Just nicely loose, not a stretched-out body hugger. And fabric weight perfect for wearing under another shirt without feeling over-shrted or bulky. Sleeve length surprised me. Guess I hadn't noticed when buying. Sleeves end maybe 4" (11 cm) below elbow crease. but they don't ride up above elbows with normal wearing so it is ok.
I am not a cyclist, so I cannot comment on this shirts functionality. What attracts me to this shirt is the look. The half height color with the long full zip make for an almost asian minimalist dress up / casual design that taken together with its long length hem and the short sleeve length, make for a really interesting look that is sorely lacking in men's casual wear. These look great with a knicker type pant. I ordered the deep purple as it is darker and more dressed up but I think I'm going to return it because the light grey back and arm reflector really works against the look I'm after. Too bad !!
