All About The Wool
Wool Type +
Finely tuned 18.5 micron New Zealand Merino at 195g/m2. We designed this fabric from the need of a weight in-between our Woolies 1 at 150g/m2 and our Woolies 2 at 230g/m2. The weight of the fabric resembles that of a high quality t-shirt. It works well worn next to skin as a baselayer or on it's own.
Benefits of Wool
Wool garments offer substantially more protection from UV exposure than traditional summer fabrics, like cotton.
Wool draws moisture away from the skin and evaporates moisture, regulating body temperature in all conditions.
Ibex wool products naturally include antimicrobial properties, keeping your garment odor-free.
Wool fights off weather and dirt and prevents stains, making Ibex easy to wash and easy to keep clean.
Because Ibex is made from very small micron diameter fibers, our garments are extremely soft and comfortable.
The craftspeople who are involved in every step of the process–from the sheep, to the spinners, to the sewers–are carefully hand-selected.
Because we use wool–a natural and renewable fiber– Ibex is good for you and good for the Earth.
Ibex wool garments resist heat. They don’t hold a flame and won’t melt like synthetic fabrics and fibers.
We recommend a general body measurement guide to determine your size in Ibex clothing. This sizing chart is not garment specific, but in fact a body measurement chart. Here are some helpful hints when measuring:
Bust/Chest: relax arms at sides, keeping the tape parallel to the floor, measure the fullest part of your bust/chest
Waist: keeping the measuring tape comfortably loose, measure around your natural waistline
Hips: standing with heels together, keep the tape straight and parallel to the floor, measure around the fullest part of hips
Sleeve Length: a 3-point measurement, standing with arms relaxed and slightly bent at sides, measure from the base of the neck to the shoulder and then from the shoulder to the wrist bone, add together measurements
Form-fit: garment designed to fit snug to the body throughout
Semi-fit: garment will be contoured to the body
Regular-fit: garment will not be slim, but also not oversized
Relaxed-fit: garment drapes loosely on body

True to size with a relaxed fit for layering. I am 5'5" with a 30" bust and ordered the XS. The ruching on both sides of the hips draws attention to the waist and is very flattering. I chose the Birch color, an off-white that helps reflect sunlight and also really complements my skin tone. I tested this today over a sports bra and the Ibex Pulse shorts on a 10 mile trail in 75 °F weather that felt much, much worse under a scorching Floridian sun. Though I was quite warm and lightly sweating, I never felt overwhelmed by heat. It's surprisingly temperature versatile. I had only planned on wearing it during brisk morning runs and to help me warm up prior to races, but I'm already more in love with it than expected. As for longevity, it is similar to all natural wool clothing in that it pills readily. Mine already has some pilling where the underarms chafe, just from one day on the trail. So be armed with a lint shaver and mesh bags for machine washing separately.
