All About The Wool
Wool Type +
The exclusive combination of mostly wool with a bit of nylon and Lycra® gives this fabric a soft, resilient flexibility. Used in the Women's Loose Tights, it has become a favorite of many, a fabric that you won't want to take off. Machine Washable.
Benefits of Wool
Wool garments offer substantially more protection from UV exposure than traditional summer fabrics, like cotton.
Wool draws moisture away from the skin and evaporates moisture, regulating body temperature in all conditions.
Ibex wool products naturally include antimicrobial properties, keeping your garment odor-free.
Wool fights off weather and dirt and prevents stains, making Ibex easy to wash and easy to keep clean.
Because Ibex is made from very small micron diameter fibers, our garments are extremely soft and comfortable.
The craftspeople who are involved in every step of the process–from the sheep, to the spinners, to the sewers–are carefully hand-selected.
Because we use wool–a natural and renewable fiber– Ibex is good for you and good for the Earth.
Ibex wool garments resist heat. They don’t hold a flame and won’t melt like synthetic fabrics and fibers.
We recommend a general body measurement guide to determine your size in Ibex clothing. This sizing chart is not garment specific, but in fact a body measurement chart. Here are some helpful hints when measuring:
Bust/Chest: relax arms at sides, keeping the tape parallel to the floor, measure the fullest part of your bust/chest
Waist: keeping the measuring tape comfortably loose, measure around your natural waistline
Hips: standing with heels together, keep the tape straight and parallel to the floor, measure around the fullest part of hips
Sleeve Length: a 3-point measurement, standing with arms relaxed and slightly bent at sides, measure from the base of the neck to the shoulder and then from the shoulder to the wrist bone, add together measurements
Form-fit: garment designed to fit snug to the body throughout
Semi-fit: garment will be contoured to the body
Regular-fit: garment will not be slim, but also not oversized
Relaxed-fit: garment drapes loosely on body

It's products like this that are making my IBEX addiction a real problem. This jacket arrived a few days ago and I can't take it off. The fabric's incredible: flexible, form fitting, zero bulk, flattering accent lines/seams. A small fits perfectly (5'5", 115lbs). I'm trying to expand beyond grey and black in my winter wardrobe: the navy is almost black really but softer, warm and very flatterin
I own five of the Energy full zip tops. I mostly wear them over a blouse at work while I am teaching. I get many compliments when I wear them. The most common comments are the lines drape beautifully, it looks great and it is really dressy. I am middle aged and love the relaxed fit (I am an XL size). It is super comfortable and I wish Ibex made more colors. I would like to suggest a beautiful gree
I love this top! I wear it for hiking and climbing, yet it's stylish enough to wear over a top at the office and out to dinner. Ibex, please please please bring this back in the spring in lighter shades--it would be the perfect spring cardigan! I would love to have this in off-white or rusty red or pretty much any color...
I've worn this nearly everyday since I got it and like it more and more. At first I wasn't sure I liked the look of the pockets and the looser fit, but it's super comfortable and good for layering. I also like the merino/nylon/spandex blend--very comfortable material. I haven't washed it yet, however, but other Ibex products that I have launder well, so I don't expect problems.
I really love this sweater. I have all four colors. They are perfect for layering. They were great while traveling in Europe for wearing during the cool mornings, stuffing in a backpack during the day, and pulling out wrinkle-free for the cooler evenings. I've worn them hiking in the Alps, out to nice dinners, on long plane rides, to church, to the gym, and everywhere in between.
I purchased this as one of a whole bunch of full zip tops, as I was looking for the perfect one. Immediately I knew this was it- clean lines, a little strech, great weight. It was great for my larger frame. I ordered another one!
I've been wearing this both around the house for warmth and in lieu of a sweatshirt at the gym. It's comfortable and more flattering than a sweatshirt. Would also be excellent under a ski shell for colder days instead of a fleece jacket. I also ride a motorcycle and I plan to wear this in the spring/fall for cold or rainy rides.
I wanted another Energy Full Zip but the one available in my size was the Burnt Rose color which I didn't like so much, too bright for me. Since I was ordering other items I thought I would order this color anyway hoping it would not be as bright as it appears on my computer monitor. This color is not bright and is gorgeous on me, dark hair olive skin. My initial hate for this color turned into
I bought this to wear as a layer under my ski jacket, but even before wearing it skiing, I wore it to play in a concert (I got the one in black), to work, to ride my bike, and at home. I love, love, love how the jacket moves with me, never restricting my movement. I think the fit is terrific - the pockets look fine and don't accentuate my hips. I've washed it 2x and it washes well with no shrinkag
I have been living in my Energy FZ since I got it 3 weeks ago. The fabric is incredibly comfortable- it moves with me, is light weight and hangs beautifully. I have worn it to walk the dogs under a shell in the rain and with dress slacks to business meetings. The pockets are just the right size and shape.
I have the black which is very versatile. I wish ibex offered more colors.
I have this in the blue/black color (which is my favorite Ibex color ever, I hope they bring it back! I'd buy everything in that color -- tees, woolies, tights.) This is a great, versatile garment. It's dressy enough that you don't feel like a gym rat when you wear it to dinner, but it's also very comfortable and warm without overheating. Super for outdoor sports (even apres ski if you layer it).
I bought the coat for cycling in the Bay Area winter months... but I admit I wear it all the time and haven't even cycled in it yet (mostly b/c I don't want to get it sweaty). I usually like Ibex more for function than form but this jacket looks and feels perfect for every day running around.
I already have a Shak full zip I love, and debated between another color Shak or this Energy FZ top-- glad I chose this. It is less fitted and snug than the Shak, falls to lower hip. Has nice long sleeves. The weight of wool is perfect for use as an outdoor jacket in fall temps, or for a layer indoors. It dresses up well for a casual work office. I love the pockets, and the design and the nice dra
This article of clothing can be used in all seasons (in the summer in cooler climates) The fabic is soft and if you are not athletic makes a great article of clothing if you travel alot and need something really comfortable for air travel that will keep you cozy- when you are on a long flight and you tend to get cold...Or just a walk to the beach or gracery store Perfect clothing for anyone who en
I threw away all my suit jackets and use this instead. It is warm and styled with a beautiful simplicity. I bought three different colors and wear them with jeans, dress pants and skirts. Ibex products are outstanding!
I love this top! The double zipper allows for unzipping at the top and the bottom. Unzipping the bottom makes for a very flattering look. The unique seaming is also very flattering and comfortable to wear.
I use this for teaching, running around outside, hiking, traveling, lounging and going to church. It's nicer than a lot of my outdoor layers so I don't use it for a lot of active things, at least not yet - it's holding up well to multiple wearings and washings. The heather grey is a versatile color that goes for days with heavy use and no need to wash. It's great for traveling since you can ball i
I bought it to go with the Loose Tights and it does. The fit is more relaxed than many of the other Ibex tops which works well for me as I prefer clothing that is cut straight rather than fitted. Works well for casual as well as slightly more formal wear.
I was buying this to replace an old ibex jacket that was similar (gray, no hood, fz design) but lighter weight that I wore all the time in the summer. I'm not crazy about the look of this ponte style of wool or the heavy weight, but it is close enough and I will keep it. Hoping Ibex makes more jackets without silly pockets that do not have a hood, are light weight and in somewhat neutral colors.
This sweater is totally comfortable. I was not sold on its look out of the package, but upon trying it on, was won over. It has this subtle stretch that makes it insanely comfortable to move in. So hiking, cross country skiing, and casual wear - all perfect situations for wearing this. It can be dressy or totally casual sporty. I'd take it traveling anywhwere. I am 5'4" and 120 lbs. The S is perfe
I bought several Ibex jackets to try, and although this one is very nice, it did not make the final cut. It's not a fitted look, which is fine - just not my taste. If you like a roomier fit with conservative styling, this is perfect. The quality is impeccable, of course.
