Indie:

Finely tuned 18.5 micron New Zealand Merino at 195g/m2. We designed this fabric from the need of a weight in-between our Woolies at 150g/m2 and our Zepher at 230g/m2. The weight of the fabric resembles that of a high quality t-shirt. It works well worn next to skin as a baselayer or on it\u0027s own.

How Do I Determine My Size?

We recommend a general body measurement guide to determine your size in Ibex clothing. This sizing chart is not garment specific, but in fact a body measurement chart. Here are some helpful hints when measuring:

Bust/Chest: relax arms at sides, keeping the tape parallel to the floor, measure the fullest part of your bust/chest
Waist: keeping the measuring tape comfortably loose, measure around your natural waistline
Hips: standing with heels together, keep the tape straight and parallel to the floor, measure around the fullest part of hips
Sleeve Length: a 3-point measurement, standing with arms relaxed and slightly bent at sides, measure from the base of the neck to the shoulder and then from the shoulder to the wrist bone, add together measurements
Form-fit: garment designed to fit snug to the body throughout
Semi-fit: garment will be contoured to the body
Regular-fit: garment will not be slim, but also not oversized
Relaxed-fit: garment drapes loosely on body

Still need help determining your size? Call 800.773.9647 or email us at info@ibex.com for specific garment measurements.

I love this shirt. Ibex replaced it for me as it was defective. They actually gave me a coupon for anything I wanted. I bought another one. I plan to use this shirt for hiking, walking the dog and everyday use.

I like the light weight layer when I need something but not a heavy sweater. I love the hood for sun protection, keeping the wind from my ears and a little extra warmth when I need it.

Merino wool, warm, doesn't stink; nice hood, thumbholes; I've purchased SmartWool before but wanted a hooded longsleeve and SmartWool didn't offer exactly what I wanted; I have never shopped with Ibex before but look forward to trying their products!

This is very comfortable and it fits and hangs well. I don't personally like the thumb holes, but I still love this piece!
Elsbeth W on Mar 10, 2016
I needed a versatile piece to wear under and over other pieces of clothing. I am very happy with my choice. This piece offers a lot of warmth without the bulk and has allowed me to adapt easily to the wide-ranging temperatures this winter. I sometimes wear it with one or two other pieces under a fleece and am still comfortable even in 30-degree weather.
Anne T on Mar 7, 2016
Narrow fit. Way better than Lulu Lemon.
Kimberly K on Mar 5, 2016
have two already in other colors! love them!
Vicki A on Mar 5, 2016
Insulating and stylish, I can wear this on the trail or under a jacket or blazer at work. Either way, the hood and longer sleeves with thumbholes add a bit of extra warmth.

Heather S on Feb 22, 2016
I bought one before and love it so much that I want to keep another around for when it falls apart or shrinks. The way things go nowadays, I can never replace a cherished piece of clothing because it's usually only made and offered for a year or maybe two.

Great to layer under a shell. I have long arms and I love the thumb loops to keep the sleeves in place. With gloves on, there is no better way to keep hands and wrists warm.

I wear a size small in the Juliet Zip Hoodie; should I also choose a small for this hoodie? I am 5'8 143 pounds. I am wearing this for running.
A shopper on Sep 13, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The hooded indie is one of my all-time favorites. It hangs pretty long, like mid to low hip. I am 5'7" 140 pounds and have both a small and s medium. What I love about the small is that the fit looks tidy for times I'd wear it for more than just exercising. The medium is more like a comfy, extra long and extra long sleeve look. More casual but perfect for layering. It's thin so, as a bottom layer, the length is awesome. I recommend one in each size honestly! Enjoy your new top, I think it's a wise purchase!
Is the azalea more pink or more red?
Madison teacher on Nov 16, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The azalea is a dark, bright pink. Very pretty but definitely more pink than red.
What is the sleeve length of the medium and the large?
Jenny P on Dec 6, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I ordered and received a small and the sleeve length was perfect for this hoody but in general I find I have to fold up the cuffs on the sleeves of the ibex jackets I order because they are a bit too long.
How about making an indy hoody in a regular fit?
A shopper on Jan 26, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The fit of the Hooded Indy is "regular", not petite or tall, so your question doesn't really make sense.
I am debating between the midnight and yukon sky colors - is the yukon sky see-thru?
Melissa T on Dec 5, 2015
BEST ANSWER: So... I went with the Yukon Sky - it is not see-thru! It is a beautiful color and I am so happy with my purchase! This is my 3rd hooded indie, I LOVE them so! They are a frequent go-to for anything from skiing to lounging, running around town, hiking, etc. If you don't yet have a hooded indie you need to get one...or two...or three!
What is the total length from shoulder in size M and L ? I am tall (5'11) and am worried that is is too short...
Christine T on Aug 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I'm also 5'11 and have long arms so i often order men's medium (instead of a women's large) when there is a similar item. Women's large is usually too bid in the stomach and has shorter length. The men's medium is longer, with longer arms and thinner in the body. Works perfectly for me.
Is this top in the honeydew more green or more yellow? Can't tell--if it truly is the color of honeydew melon it will be awesome but on my monitor it looks more yellowish.
A shopper on Sep 22, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I think the honeydew really does look like the melon we all love. It is not yellow, but a light, bright, springy green. I can't wear yellow at all and I like this shade. You can see the true color better in the Shak Spire Hoody picture. The model is wearing a grey sweatshirt with the honeydew zip hoody as a baselayer and it is easier to judge the color in that picture, I think.
I cannot decide between the indie hera hoodie vs the indie hoodie...looking for some guidance?
erin c on Feb 28, 2016
W's Hooded Indie
W's Hooded Indie
W's Indie Hera Hoody
W's Indie Hera Hoody
BEST ANSWER: To me, though they are the same material, they have different roles in my wardrobe. They both work well as a light mid layer, like over a tshirt or tank. I think the hooded indie layers better under trim expedition weight or warmer layers (like a shak). The Hera hoody is looser, longer and has the pouch pocket, plus a thicker band at the bottom that I think makes it a little scrunchier and bulkier under layers. I wear it often as a stand-alone second layer/light sweater and feel like the styling without a neck zip feels a little more fashionable than the hooded indie. So I'd say if you are going for a more active mid layer, get the hooded indie. More casual light over layer, get the Hera. I love them both and have 2 of each...
do any of your half zip hoodies come in xl?
Rachel B on Jan 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes! The Woolies 3 which is an expedition weight base layer (but can also stand alone) and the Hooded Indie which is a light weight all season shirt.

Is the Yukon sky a light purple or pink? I have the Trinity shirt in the same color and it looks more purple, but on the website this item looks more pink. Thanks in advance for the help with the color!
Amy B on Sep 23, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hello I would say the Yukon Sky is more of a purplish pink. Thanks.

Best christmas present ever!
I love this pullover! The sleeves are the perfect length, completely covers my hands. I layer it under jackets for work and play and never get too warm. It also very flattering on its own. I am 5'2 and 135lbs and the large feels custom fit.

Hate to put this in the wash...
I wear it running outside in Anchorage winter weather, it keeps me warm but allows me to breathe. I love it, this is my second shirt like this, the first was taken from me by my teenager, worn at every moment possible, then lost. I was so sad I bought 3 to replace it! 1 for him and 2 for me!

I LOVE my Indie hoodie
I have worn this hoodie everyday since I purchased it. I use it as my base layer and despite wearing it for 28-days straight on one trip it isn't wearing out where it rubs against my backpack straps. I love, love, love it. It's super comfortable against my skin and it doesn't smell as much as my polypro base layers after a long time sweating in it. Highly recommended.

Perfect Lightweight Baselayer
I use the hooded indie as my base layer in cold weather when I run early mornings in Boston. It cuts the wind but breathes well too. Maintains its shape and doesn't smell after one run. I also wear it out with jeans because it's sporty, attractive and surprisingly stylish for my favorite running shirt. I think I might get another one....

Love it
I just ordered my third hooded indie - I love the fabric, and it's stylish and practical for just about everything.

I'm 5 ft 4/130 lbs with a big chest, the Medium fits like a glove, but I also have an L to wear with base layers.

I've loved the crew and 1/4-zip version of this but so nice to have the hood!

perfect fit!
This is extremely comfortable! It is very hard to find clothing in bright green for women. Please make more bright colors available!

The fabric is smooth and so far has held up to a few gentle washes. The areas around the zipper and thumbholes have two layers and seem well constructed.

I'm 5'4", about 165, and curvy (DD chest). The XL is a perfect fit. I've bought a second color.

Esssential part of outdoor wardrobe
I have been looking for a specific type of wool baselayer for a while. I wanted one with thumb loops, quarter zip, and a hood. The Indie hoodie fits the bill perfectly. Not only is this pullover flattering enough to wear to work, it is incredibly functional and doesn't stink when I sweat. My only complaint (why I didn't give it 5 stars) is that I noticed a small tear near the thumb loop after wearing it a few times and some of the thread started to unravel. I hand sewed up the hole and it seems to be holding well.

Thrilled in the Tongass
I purchased this as an every day layer while paddling in southeast Alaska this summer. It is the perfect layer and I wear it almost every day! I am 5'7", 145#, with broad shoulders and a medium fits great.
