How Do I Determine My Size?

We recommend a general body measurement guide to determine your size in Ibex clothing. This sizing chart is not garment specific, but in fact a body measurement chart. Here are some helpful hints when measuring:

Bust/Chest: relax arms at sides, keeping the tape parallel to the floor, measure the fullest part of your bust/chest
Waist: keeping the measuring tape comfortably loose, measure around your natural waistline
Hips: standing with heels together, keep the tape straight and parallel to the floor, measure around the fullest part of hips
Sleeve Length: a 3-point measurement, standing with arms relaxed and slightly bent at sides, measure from the base of the neck to the shoulder and then from the shoulder to the wrist bone, add together measurements
Form-fit: garment designed to fit snug to the body throughout
Semi-fit: garment will be contoured to the body
Regular-fit: garment will not be slim, but also not oversized
Relaxed-fit: garment drapes loosely on body

Essential under my everyday blue jeans when it's frigid out. If it's really cold out, I'll sleep in them, too, especially if my husband's away on a business trip and not around to warm up the bed.

Super comfortable and stretchy. It is a bit tight around the ankles though.

I wanted a lighter base layer to wear under dress slacks in the office during milder months, to stay comfortable with cold a/c.
C. Anne J on Dec 29, 2015
Warm, flexible, great with skirts (though the knees bag a bit, and they run easily).
Jill S on Dec 15, 2015
There is nothing better than wool for long underwear - no comparison. They don't hold the smell of sweat the way alternate materials do, they stay warm when wet, and are perfect for under pants or skirts all winter long. I am a total fan!

are they see-through?
A shopper on Aug 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I think it would depend, in part, on the sizing. I got these a size (or two) up from my actual size because I don't like a tight fit, even for what are essentially, well, tights. So for me, they're pretty close to opaque, though less so than an actual pair of pants. Also I wear them as a layer underneath regular pants, so for me, it doesn't matter. I wouldn't wear them alone, but that's me, and I'm inclined to err on the side of modesty, usually.
Do these fit true to size?
cindy on Aug 24, 2015
BEST ANSWER: We have a range of these, as I wear them and my two daughters wear them also--and for the small and medium that we've gotten, they fit true to size and are very comfortable. We all love them.
Does the waistband run tight?
A shopper on Aug 16, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The waist band does not run right in relation to the size. I got a large because of "athletic" thighs and the fit is comfortable for me. No pinching or binding anywhere from waist to toe. Warm and comfy
Is the waistband wide?
A shopper on Aug 16, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The waistband isn't really wide (or high). It's 1-inch elastic with the fabric wrapped up and over the elastic to form a casing. Very comfortable. I live in my Woolie bottoms all winter.
Are you going to offer a women's boxer this winter? If not I might buy the longs on sale send pay a seamstress to shorten them.
Ellen C on Jul 28, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hello no we won't be carrying a women's boxer this winter.

Unbelievably soft, warm, stylish, and practical all at the same time. Wish they came in a range of colors. Perfect fall/winter clothing: now I can wear dresses and skirts without freezing!

long enough for a 5' 11" lady!
These are great! I am 5' 11", 145lb, usually wear a 6/28 in pants, and the small fits perfectly. They are long enough to hit right above my ankles. They are definitely tight fitting, and the bottom cuffs aren't stretchy, so you have to be careful when taking them off to not tear the seams.

I wear them as leggings with dresses and as a base layer for outdoor activities. The knees stretch out a little bit after a few wears, but they go right back to their original shape after washing.

Overall, a great addition to my wardrobe!

Oh yeah!
This is the best feel, light wool layer I have ever used. I'm a slender 6 foot 1. My primary job over the past 10 years has been working outdoors and as an outdoor educator.. The small is skin tight - the correct fit. From cool summer evenings to fall and winter Baselayers - in Wisconsin! These layers are great!

Warm, but a slightly big
I like how warm and comfortable the material is, but it seems slightly big. I'm 5'2", 120lbs. and I got a small. I would've liked to have tried the xs, but I just decided I'd keep the small since it's just a hair baggy--not enough to feel like it warrants me paying for a return shipment.

Love these, but . . .
I love these in every way except they do not hold up adequately and do not even make it through a whole winter season without developing a lot of holes and tears. I wash these inside a mesh, "delicates" bag, do not put in the dryer, and try to treat them gently when putting on/taking off, but the fabric nonetheless does not hold up. If they could be made more durable, without sacrificing the oth

disappointing with rips
It's really disappointing how quickly they ripped ... the second time I pulled them on I opened a huge hole in the hip. They fit perfectly and I wasn't being aggressive, the fabric is just too delicate. Even when trying to be more careful, they still ripped again. Very disappointing.

Loved last winter, will love again
These are perfect under pants I wear in my cold office; to bed when chilled; under jeans and sweatpants---and even under Ibex's Loose Tights and Izzis when it's really frigid out. They never itch, are always soft and warm, and wash like a dream.

Couldn't be happier - or warmer
I was delighted to find I could order more Woolies bottoms on the ibex site. I bought some a couple of years ago in a shop and have been looking for more as they are the best! I especially like that they are full length from the waist, i.e., not "bikini" height above the legs. I find this is most comfortable - I don't feel like they are falling down. Thank you for not changing the design. Oh
