How Do I Determine My Size?

We recommend a general body measurement guide to determine your size in Ibex clothing. This sizing chart is not garment specific, but in fact a body measurement chart. Here are some helpful hints when measuring:

Bust/Chest: relax arms at sides, keeping the tape parallel to the floor, measure the fullest part of your bust/chest
Waist: keeping the measuring tape comfortably loose, measure around your natural waistline
Hips: standing with heels together, keep the tape straight and parallel to the floor, measure around the fullest part of hips
Sleeve Length: a 3-point measurement, standing with arms relaxed and slightly bent at sides, measure from the base of the neck to the shoulder and then from the shoulder to the wrist bone, add together measurements
Form-fit: garment designed to fit snug to the body throughout
Semi-fit: garment will be contoured to the body
Regular-fit: garment will not be slim, but also not oversized
Relaxed-fit: garment drapes loosely on body

I am looking for more wool clothing, including t shirts, since it seems to be an ideal fabric for a lot of reasons. This shirt sounds like it will be durable, comfortable, and looks great too.

This looks similar to the Sol Tee, which is out of stock. I like the soft feel of these shirts. I thru hiked the Appalachian Trail this summer in my Sol Tee and got comments from store owners that I did not smell (stink) like a thru hiker. Nice.

ibex makes quality products, a bit pricey....but so far, all the items I have purchased have been outstanding and exceeded my expectations. Once you start wearing ibex, you won't want to wear anything else.

Just bought an Ibex tee on sale and love it. Decided to add to my collection. Biggest motivation is I am traveling and wanted something that looks good, feels good and is easy to clean. I also like the no smell side of the merino wool.

lightweigt and great for outdoors. I use them for tennis and they are much better than the polyester shirts. The wool shirts do a better job of wicking moisture. I use them year round

One of the guys in my office raves about these shirts, he said they are so comfortable that he could sleep in them and whatever he does outside works/plays etc. there is no odor. I thought I'd try them out for my husband, especially since they are on sale.

With the varying weather conditions of the midwest merino wool tops in different weights are almost a necessity. I presently have Seventeen.5, U-Sixty, and Sol Tees as well as the VT Polo. I liked the fabric (18.5 microns) weight of the polo so much I knew I had to own a tee version.
Danno on Jul 20, 2015
I wear Ibex baselayers and jackets constantly while traveling and at home. I'm introducing these wonderful wool garments to a friend.

Looking for t-shirts with crew neck for field work. Many of your women's styles have lower, v, or scoop necks, which are not good for areas with a lot of mosquitos. Your men's styles have more crew neck options- will see if men's small fits okay.
Lisa S on May 28, 2015
This is the only shirt that Ibex makes that I can wear with my uniform. I wish there was a woman's version. I think the color "sand dollar" in a ibex 150 crew would work as well.
Rebecca B on May 27, 2015
Love this shirt in hot, cool, or cold weather. No itch, just magic. The fit is nice too, with the short sleeves that don't crawl up. Perfect fit and comfort.
Steven A on May 26, 2015
Both my husband and son love to wear these wool t shirts they say the are both comfortable and cool.
Trisha P on May 25, 2015
I'm in the US Air Force and can only wear sand colored shirts. I love the Sand dollar 150 woolies and am hoping the heather color will be within regulations because I need some tees for summer and it's almost impossible to wear cotton after getting used to merino.

How do these run size wise. Do they tend to be run small or large?
Dan S on May 23, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I live in Australia so if I was to purchase a size large here it would be a size medium in the USA. I have found the OD Heather to be more of an athletic fit than say Ibex's Seventeen.5, that I also purchased which turned out to be more of a loose fit offering more coverage when bent over. I'm 183cm in height and roughly weigh 72kg with a slim toned build.
I'm 193 cm (6'4") tall with an athletic build and torn between the medium and the large. According to the size chart, when I measure my chest and waist, I'm a large, but the main reason I'm having doubts about getting a large is that they seem rather long. I don't want my t-shirt hanging on my knees. Also, I'm from Europe and I have the impression American sizes are a bit bigger. Your thoughts?
A shopper on Jul 1, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I got this shirt as a present for my dad, who is about your height. He always wears a "long" in American sizes so I got him the large (that's his usual size). He has a medium build, about 190 pounds, more or less. I would get the large if I were you because wool will shrink a bit over time, no matter how well you care for it. Getting a large will give you a little extra room especially if you don't wear things on the very tight side. In the women's clothing, I've found the shirts run fairly true to size. Oh, and my dad wears his t-shirts tucked in, so I know he wouldn't mind the extra length--but it certainly won't be as long as you're imagining!
will this shrink in the wash?
A shopper on Jul 28, 2015
BEST ANSWER: No shrinkage with this T in the washer----warm water and regular wash action. I only wash the shirt with like articles to protect the fabric. For drying, I dry in the dryer on cold air cycle.
was puzzled by the review that said this shirt needs to be dry cleaned. Really? Also, what is the basic difference between this shirt and the U60, other than price? Finally, I'm 6'4'', 190 pounds. What size is recommended? Thanks
A shopper on Jul 9, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I've had no problems washing OD Heather tees on a cold delicate cycle and air drying them. Shake them well before hanging them to dry to minimize wrinkles. I prefer the OD Heather's weathered and more textured look over the U60. At 6"3", 190 lbs a large fits well. Length is fine, but not overly generous. This is one of my favorite shirts and a summer staple here in northern Minnesota.
What's the difference between this & the od sol tee?
William on Jun 22, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hello there isn't much of a difference between the OD Heather T and the OD Sol T. The only difference is the seam on the sleeves. Same fit and everything.

Buy One...Budget for More
This ain't your dads generation wool. Great stuff, as always. Bought two for starters. Would like to see another inch in the sleeves. A favorite, sustainable, performance fabric and product.

Just right fit
First, wool is everything it's cracked up to be. Second, the fit of this shirt is great if, like me, you dislike the trend of all clothes being tight fitting. This shirt has a true "regular" fit.

Fit, Durability & Comfort
I own the competitors, but when I want style, fit, comfort and durability I choose ibex. I wear them in layers and alone. All 4 seasons. So versatile, I wear them daily, and wouldn't use cotton again. Want more!

Love it
I have other colors of this T shirt. The fit is perfect for me. They wear very well. I wear these, Spring, Summer and Fall; and, sometimes in the Winter under another wool next to skin long sleeve shirt.

Best active shirt -- ever
I love this shirt, so much so, that I bought 4 of them. I just got back from 10 days hiking in Israel and I rotated the 4 shirts throughout the hike. The shirts would get very sweaty on the back where my pack rested (is there any way to avoid this), but after each hike, I would hold the wet shirt out the window of our moving car and it would dry in less than a minute. Zero stink and the shirt w

Simply a great product.
Stands out from the crowd. Durable and ease of use.

Durable and comfortable
Wearing this instead of the usual three pocket cycling jersey. Also use it for casual wear. The bronze color is nice and brown/mustard, and the material isn't as flimsy as the 17.5. Sleeve openings are a little small, but that make my mini biceps look huge, eh, I can live with that.

Summer Running
This shirt is great for summer runs! I recently moved to the Boston area and have been running along the Charles river and in the Arboretum with temperatures in the 80's and high humidity this shirt has preformed better then any of my other synthetic tops, plus I don't have to wash it as much becuase of the natural anti-smell factor of the wool!
