How Do I Determine My Size?

We recommend a general body measurement guide to determine your size in Ibex clothing. This sizing chart is not garment specific, but in fact a body measurement chart. Here are some helpful hints when measuring:

Bust/Chest: relax arms at sides, keeping the tape parallel to the floor, measure the fullest part of your bust/chest
Waist: keeping the measuring tape comfortably loose, measure around your natural waistline
Hips: standing with heels together, keep the tape straight and parallel to the floor, measure around the fullest part of hips
Sleeve Length: a 3-point measurement, standing with arms relaxed and slightly bent at sides, measure from the base of the neck to the shoulder and then from the shoulder to the wrist bone, add together measurements
Form-fit: garment designed to fit snug to the body throughout
Semi-fit: garment will be contoured to the body
Regular-fit: garment will not be slim, but also not oversized
Relaxed-fit: garment drapes loosely on body

Still need help determining your size? Call 800.773.9647 or email us at info@ibex.com for specific garment measurements.

Great merino wool shirt. Feels good, not tight and more of a relaxed form fit. With it being on sale it is the one to buy if you need one. Made well and looks good.

This shirt is perfect! Fits great, breathes well, and doesn't smell.

A wool t-shirt is an indispensable backpacking layer - no other shirt can do a week on the trail and not smell (most synthetics can't even handle 24 hours before smelling). I tend to be between sizes for Ibex shirts, after having owned many of them the more spacious fit of this shirt ends up being a good match for my body size when I opt for the size small while other cuts in a small are too tight and mediums are sometimes swimmy.

Love the base layers - now wanting to convert to merino wool t-shirts for year round use!
John L on Aug 15, 2016
This will be my third shirt like this. I love them and wear them whenever I can, but perfect for hiking. Cool when it's hot and warm when it's cold. The fit is just right. Not too snug.
randy a on Aug 13, 2016
Great looking t shirt, fit is perfect, just picked up a couple more on sale. I still like cotton on really hot days but for everything else these work great. If you're working out, hiking and sweating these won't get as clammy as cotton or poly.
Jeff J on Aug 11, 2016
I bought this shirt because I bought a used one a few years ago and it still looks like new. I tried other brands and none of those held up at all.
Michael W on Aug 10, 2016
Own one in different color and very much like it.
bruce g on Aug 9, 2016
Heathered colors are far more attractive than the monochromes. Also, your OD Heather T's have collars that fortunately don't seem to fray in the front as early as those of the Seventeen.5 T's.
Ben R on Aug 9, 2016
I absolutely love these T shirts. I seem to live in them most of the year. Fit is great, I'm 5'10; 180lbs so a size large, colors are great - so comfortable and seemingly softer after every wash!
David S on Aug 8, 2016
Because I got one and liked the fit and finish.

My husband loves his ibex shirts and doesn't have a gray one
Donna W on Aug 2, 2016
Am a woman but was looking for a straight cut shirt with simple crew neck in a neutral color. This one was also all wool which I prefer (as supposed to a wool/synthetic blend which a few ibex shirts are). I usually can get away with a men's size small but still praying it won't be like a dress on me.
Miranda R on Aug 1, 2016
Already own 4 and, after several years regular rotation, one is wearing out. Bummer. So I have to purchase 3 more to add to my eminently practical wardrobe.
Donald P on Jul 31, 2016
I have four, 2ls and 2ss, and they rock.

Plan to do multi-day hikes and need a dependable, anti-odor, supremely comfortable t-shirt to spend the time in.

It looked like it would fit me (middle-aged fairly athletic woman). It's relaxed, has a large enough neck and long enough sleeves. It fits like a normal t-shirt.

Great reviews. I like other similar Ibex shirts and wanted a crew collar shirt for workouts. I have the Axis V-neck and love it.

will this shrink in the wash?
A shopper on Jul 28, 2015
BEST ANSWER: No shrinkage with this T in the washer----warm water and regular wash action. I only wash the shirt with like articles to protect the fabric. For drying, I dry in the dryer on cold air cycle.
How do these run size wise. Do they tend to be run small or large?
Dan S on May 23, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hello the fit on the M's OD Heather T is a Regular fit. It is our more generous fit and it fits true to size. Thank you
I'm 193 cm (6'4") tall with an athletic build and torn between the medium and the large. According to the size chart, when I measure my chest and waist, I'm a large, but the main reason I'm having doubts about getting a large is that they seem rather long. I don't want my t-shirt hanging on my knees. Also, I'm from Europe and I have the impression American sizes are a bit bigger. Your thoughts?
A shopper on Jul 1, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hi, I'm about 186 cm and 86 kg. I like the medium T shirts--- they are comfortably close-fitting for wearing under another layer. For Ibex shirts with a collar I chose the large. I don't think you need to worry at all that they're too long. Best of luck!
was puzzled by the review that said this shirt needs to be dry cleaned. Really? Also, what is the basic difference between this shirt and the U60, other than price? Finally, I'm 6'4'', 190 pounds. What size is recommended? Thanks
A shopper on Jul 9, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I've had no problems washing OD Heather tees on a cold delicate cycle and air drying them. Shake them well before hanging them to dry to minimize wrinkles. I prefer the OD Heather's weathered and more textured look over the U60. At 6"3", 190 lbs a large fits well. Length is fine, but not overly generous. This is one of my favorite shirts and a summer staple here in northern Minnesota.
How long do these shirts last when washed in delicate cycle?
Erin S on Aug 2, 2016
BEST ANSWER: These shirts hold up great when washed on delicate, cold water and mild detergent (Costco brand) - no bleach of course. I hang dry all ibex tops and they dry quickly depending on thickness. I wear on OD heather on weekends so still holding strong after 12 months washing. I work in cold weather office and wear base layer daily and they hold up well just be careful as sharp fingernails have ripped holes on a couple of my base layers.
What's the difference between this and the Seventeen.5 T?
A shopper on Dec 17, 2015
M's OD Heather T
M's OD Heather T
M's Seventeen.5 T
M's Seventeen.5 T
BEST ANSWER: Hello, thank you for your question. The main difference is the fabric. The OD Heater T is 100% Merino Wool, the fiber is 18.5 micron, and knit to 150 g/m2. This shirt has also been dyed twice to give it the heathered look.

The Seventeen.5T is 100% Merino, knit with 17.5 micron, and is knit to 165 g/m2. The main difference is that the Seventeen.5 is softer (17.5 micron), and the fabric is knit a little bit heavier (165 g/m2). Thanks again!
What's the difference between this & the od sol tee?
William on Jun 22, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hello there isn't much of a difference between the OD Heather T and the OD Sol T. The only difference is the seam on the sleeves. Same fit and everything.
Do all your shirts have logos on the sleeve? If you want me to advertise for you, would it not make more sense for you to pay ME to wear it?
Warren J on Jul 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Most Ibex pieces do have our logo somewhere, although we do try and keep it subtle. Also, on some pieces, the logo is the same color as the shirt and harder to see.
...Thanks!

Buy One...Budget for More
This ain't your dads generation wool. Great stuff, as always. Bought two for starters. Would like to see another inch in the sleeves. A favorite, sustainable, performance fabric and product.

Just right fit
First, wool is everything it's cracked up to be. Second, the fit of this shirt is great if, like me, you dislike the trend of all clothes being tight fitting. This shirt has a true "regular" fit.

Fit, Durability & Comfort
I own the competitors, but when I want style, fit, comfort and durability I choose ibex. I wear them in layers and alone. All 4 seasons. So versatile, I wear them daily, and wouldn't use cotton again. Want more!

Best active shirt -- ever
I love this shirt, so much so, that I bought 4 of them. I just got back from 10 days hiking in Israel and I rotated the 4 shirts throughout the hike. The shirts would get very sweaty on the back where my pack rested (is there any way to avoid this), but after each hike, I would hold the wet shirt out the window of our moving car and it would dry in less than a minute. Zero stink and the shirt w

Wool is great for summertime heat
I live in the south where summer temps are high. Wool t- shirts keep me cool when I am outside in the summer heat and warm when I move inside to air conditioned spaces. The shirts hold up well to machine washing. I always air dry them. The fabric is soft yet durable.

Travel time
In planning a 5 week trip to Europe which includied a week on the El Camino, I focused on light weight and easy to clean gear. Ibex and the Heather T worked perfect. The beauty of merino wool is breathability and the added benefit of being able to wear something more than once and not worry about the smell. Plus they dry overnight after washing. I'm 6'4"" , 185 pounds and the large fit "perfect".

OD Heather.
It wicks, is breathable, and light; and can be worn several times without smelling badly; what's not to like. I wear it under a fleece to bike commute to work and then keep it on under my dress shirt at work. Really so veratile. Blue color is great. For me compares to the U sixty I bought; also a great shirt. Hard to go back to synthetic or cotton now.
