We start with the best New Zealand Merino wool to make a range of insulative yet breathable midlayers that outdoor enthusiasts swear by. This exclusive knit is square and dense, creating a rugged yet soft fabric with inherent stretch and long-wearing durability. Our Shak fabric is best used as a midlayer but is soft enough to wear as an expedition-weight baselayer and substantial enough to be used as an outerlayer in some conditions. No matter how you wear it, the performance is unbeatable. Machine washable. 100% Merino Wool

How Do I Determine My Size?

We recommend a general body measurement guide to determine your size in Ibex clothing. This sizing chart is not garment specific, but in fact a body measurement chart. Here are some helpful hints when measuring:

Bust/Chest: relax arms at sides, keeping the tape parallel to the floor, measure the fullest part of your bust/chest
Waist: keeping the measuring tape comfortably loose, measure around your natural waistline
Hips: standing with heels together, keep the tape straight and parallel to the floor, measure around the fullest part of hips
Sleeve Length: a 3-point measurement, standing with arms relaxed and slightly bent at sides, measure from the base of the neck to the shoulder and then from the shoulder to the wrist bone, add together measurements
Form-fit: garment designed to fit snug to the body throughout
Semi-fit: garment will be contoured to the body
Regular-fit: garment will not be slim, but also not oversized
Relaxed-fit: garment drapes loosely on body

I love the shak material in long sleeve shirts/jackets and in gloves.

Great for everything in cold weather.
Walks, driving, hiking, on the mountains, the list goes on.
This thing served well on Annapurna Trails and layered well over a liner.

Fantastc, yet not durable
I commute by bicycle year round in Boston. These gloves are super comfortable and provide great warmth, while wicking away moisture. I've had two pairs of these gloves. Neither pair has made it through two seasons (Winter & Spring) before developing multiple holes in the liner and in the heavy wear spots on the exterior. I love these gloves, but can't justify the expense as they just don't hold up

Warm gloves, just not for road biking.
I purchased these gloves for my husband who races road bikes. We live in Louisiana and during a cool morning (not cold by any means) these gloves did not keep my husband's hands warm. They are good gloves, just not made for cool weather biking.

Nice but not durable enough
These gloves are warm, and great for working in cold weather. However, after only one field season in Wisconsin (about 10 weeks), both gloves were splitting at the seams in multiple places and I completely wore through the leather in both index fingers. I expected more durability for the price. Otherwise I loved the glove.

not well made
I would agree with Casey from Indiana. Received these gloves last xmas 2013. Fingers seams started to split almost immediately after casual use. Just talked to a service rep (nov. 2014) and they were very helpful and are sending me a new pair. I recommended an improvement to the glove might be more leather around the fingers or a different material on the side. They said they are thinking of chang

Perfect Winter Running Glove!
Just received these and have done runs down to 10F, which seems to be about their limit for toasty fingers (0F for protected but cold fingers) while running for hours. They breath well, without allowing the wind through much, so they do not get clammy after running for an hour or more at these temps.

If you need an aerobic activity glove this is an excellent choice.

Warmest gloves ever
These are the warmest gloves I ever had which suits in cold weather for cycling.

I got these for my husband for Christmas. I tried them on myself, and found the fingers long enough for a man, but too long for my woman's hand. He absolutely loves them and uses them for skiing and also for his frequent business travels to cold and wintery Canada.

Better than Smartwool
Lost one glove of each pair, these Shak and the like Smartwool that I had prior. Wore mismatched gloves for a season and was amazed how the Shak knit kept my hands exponentially warmer while active. Ended up buying another new pair of Shak 2 layer because it made such a big difference. Highly recommend.

Classy and warm
I find these gloves to be a perfect weight with a great amount of warmth. I will be putting them to the test working outdoors in Vermonts cold windy days.I don't like bulky gloves and find these to fit great.
